Billy Joel - Uptown Girl

Billy Joel is one of my favourite singers. His songs are very sad and sincere, so in the past, whenever I heard any one of them, it always made me stop and listen. Now I am convinced that his "Honesty", or "Baby Grand", for example, are far better than anything written by other musicians in the corresponding genres.
This one, however, is very light and not moody. It shows us Billy Joel at his best - young and very energetic. The video is very old-fashioned and looking funny, but Billy's charisma is what makes it immortal.
I like Billy Joel for his macho looks and very open-hearted and talented personality which shows through his lyrics and his voice. His voice reminds me of the Beatles, and it is a question who can sing better. His open heart and talent is what is lacking in our world today. I would think of Robbie Williams in this respect, but that is another story.
"Uptown Girl" is very similar to "Baby Grand", as well as other songs by Joel, they convey the idea of a perfect woman - classy, elegant, smart and understanding at the same time. Billy, that's what I am!

I feel so much when I see those people in the streets. See them walking and trying hard and doing their best... I think that if we tried as hard as they do we would achieve great heights, because we have been given much more...I feel so moved when I see them, and I start understanding the right from the wrong. I think that we could be great friends...
One day, when I was in America, I left the shopping mall very late, and I was standing at the bus stop with my shopping. A guy on crutches came up and started talking to me. The bus was still not coming. And then he said: "You know why I've been talking here with you?" "No", I said, "why?" He said: "Because I don't want you to be standing here all alone. A young girl at night, nobody knows what might happen..." And I was slightly astonished. I didn't think so much about myself as he did, and my well-being was so important to him.
I know you may say that at that moment the poor guy felt a hero, so let him feel that at least once in his life. But as I was standing there, I was no less moved than him. I do not know if I have experienced this feeling ever since, probably I have, but it was unforgettable: something bringing people together in a gloomy darkness of the night, regardless of who they are, and giving them hope and the desire to support each other, like two tired travellers in a merciless desert united by their spirits.

Why do people start new relationships so easily?
For each moment of enjoyment, they will have to pay days of pain.
For each moment of happiness, they will have to cry rivers of tears.

Usually I start writing something down when I feel bad, and I write about it in my diary: why should I let others see my concerns? I'd rather let them see my better side.
So what are LiveJournals about, anyway?
